The Derby

Tate recently particpipated in his first pinewood derby.  He was so excited that they day after receiving his car kit, he couldn't sleep - it was better than Christmas!!
He picked the design for his car out of his scout book. (prior to stumbling upon that design, he came up with a few creative ones on his own...) Kamron cut it for him and did most of the sanding.  Tate sanded the rest and painted it.  He was so proud if his car!
Day of the Derby finall ycame.  He participated in 5 heats (I think) 3 times he came in 4th, once he came in 5th (out of 5, because he sent the car backwards and it got wobbly) and the final heat he took first!! What a proud moment/1 He was absolutely beaming!  Cute kid.  He got the award for "best wedge".
I think he's all excited for next years derby!!
