I love Halloween! Granted, it takes an effort to get 9 costumes and all - and then the night of, getting everyone dressed and make-upped, etc. fits the definition of chaos to a tee - BUT it's so much fun!
Dayton, Jersi and I started our day by attending a Halloween festivity at Discovery Ranch (we all three were in costume) - all the (60+) kids were dressed up in various costumes, and they did a fashion shows!! Even the boys participated. Loved it!
After the fashion show we headed over to watch them do an obstacle course complete with leaping over hay bales, bobbing for apples, and lasso-ing a fake horse.... While watching the fun I was touched and amazed by how sweet all these "troubled" kids were with my two littles. One boy picked flowers for Jersi, and another offered Dayton his toy sword to play with. Dayton was super shy but Jersi did her best to learn all their names. The kids seemed to have fun until one of the cows leaned through the fence and started chomping on Jersi. She was a wee bit skiddish after that. (Hilarious though, right?)
After the Ranch we headed to the Elementary School Costume Parade...

That's a really ingenious costume that Mr Elliot had! I love it!
