I Never Promised You a Rose Garden

Here are the Anashicks pictures of Oaklee that I promised...

At first during warm-ups she just sat and stared at everyone else - I was a wee bit concerned that this would be a dance class repeat...

Then they separated into groups and went to different stations (Check out her leg warmers)
Her class consists of different stations that each have there own obstacle-course type thingy... they do somersaults, the splits, frog jumps, roll down the mounatin...tons of stuff - but she always likes to tell me about the bars the best.
Here she is getting a little help on the uneven parallel bars.. (those were my favorite when I was little)

Here she is swinging from a bar by herself

This is by far my favorite picture of all! Her mouth is even hanging wide open!
Drink time
Kyndi chillin at the window we watch Oaks through.

Kyndi's fabulous outfit choice for the day... Hot pink and brown polka dot dress, light pink and brown stiped tights, black shoes. What an outfit coordinator!! (cannot figure out how this picture could possibly be sideways... it is normal on my computer and my camera)
Kyndi...

The all-exciting bum scratch

Gotta Be This or That

Name that Child:
It's Dayton - he had a total poopy blow-out and I was ready to just leave him in nothing but a diaper to avoid another disaster of clothing - but then he handed me Kyndi's shirt, and it all went downhill from there.... (and as a side note, dad is very displeased with this picture)
PS This one is Kyndi who later decided she wanted to make an attempt at dressing like a boy...

Get Along Little Doggies

Kam's work has a few out-of state projects these days and last week it was his turn to take to journey to Wyoming with a crew to work. I hate when he leaves. I don't sleep well and I miss him... BUT - this post is not about those such sorrows... no no no, this is about the day he died....

Everyday he was up there he was sure to text me like crazy - until thursday... Thursday night it was like he suddenly fell off the planet. That happened to be the same night that Kyndi got stitches so it didn't phase me as much as if I had been home waiting around for him to make contact... but still. I was getting a wee bit nervous... and by friday morning I had texted him roughly 4000 times and called him just about as much with no response... I started freaking out. I did my best to maintain control but when exactly is one permitted to panic?? I calmly called the local hospitals just in case. He wasn't there. that's good at least. I went about my day trying to distract myself. It was now about 7 in the evening... panic had set in but the kids had no clue and I had to keep it that way. Still nothing from him. I had no numbers for anyone else on his crew. I was about 2.7 seconds away from calling the morgue when the front door suddenly opened and there he was standing in my doorway unscathed. Wow - I really coulda killed him in that moment. But I broke down bawling instead... He thought I had lost my mind until I had explained to him my utter panic. "Oh, my phone stopped working for some reason" "Well didn't you think to borrow someone else's phone and call me?" "Oh ya, guess that was an option." wow Kam - good thing I like you so much or you may very well have ended up in the morgue. MEN!

I'm Falling to Pieces

Any of these pictures give you a feeling of Deja vu?

They should! This is the second time Kyndi has fallen from her bike and caught herself with her face. The second trip to the ER for stitches in the EXACT same place!! Silly girl. (and last time was less than a year ago!!) At least this time she didn't have her bike tied to Morrissa's as they went speeding around a corner! No, this time she was flying down a hill and decided to let go of the handle bars. A much smarter choice.
She actually got her stitches out today - and I was the brave soul who took them out. Judge me if you must - but I am one of those "picker" type people... I love picking at zits and scabs and plucking hairs... and this stitch removal was a whole new excitement for me... I know, I know, I blame my mother.
Kyndi was brave and never cried whilst the stitches were removed. And I dare say her scar this time around is far better than the last scar she had.
Here are some pictures of the two littles wanting to be just like Kyndi.
(Is Oaklee's face ever clean?! Where is her mother?!)

Singing In The Rain

Oaklee's middle name is Brielle. On occasion I call her Brielle. Last week sometime I called her Briella a few times. Dayton caught onto that all too quickly and now is certain her name is Um-la-lella (which is his word for Umbrella) If I ask her where umbrella is - he points to her everytime... Too cute.

He also has a vast vocabulary these days - it all started about 2 weeks ago and has gotten progressively more insane. Far too many new words and phrases for my brain to even recall right now - but he does now say "I Law Yooo" (I love you) which is by far my favorite. He knows everyone in the family's name's (including his own - Day-day, not to be confused with Dee-dee which is Kyndi...) Except dad is mom to him. And he refuses to even try for Tyson. He knows how to say dad, but prefers to call him mom - it frustrates Kamron to great lengths, and I'm sure causes some stress with his "manly-ness" :)
He calls Morrissa Moe just like the rest of us, and Tate is a definite "Tate" Oaklee is Oalee when not being called an umbrella (which is what he does most)
Anything I tell him to say he will say, and he's pretty good at it. His animla sounds, I love - he does "moo" "tweet tweet" "roar" "meow" "baa baa" and "pluuluuluu" (imagine aa turkey) his facial expresssions are by far the best on those last two... He also say Mawmar (Walmart) and very oftenly comes to tattle and tell me "be mean" and points to try to indicate who is being mean. If I get mad at him for something he either tells me I am mean or "you wude" He's so freakin hilarious!! BUT! His birthday is coming up so I better save some info for that post...

Counting on my fingers

Reason # 23,405.7 that my mother is awesome:

(Teaching a family-home-evening lesson with all the extended family)

Saturday In The Park

We recently attended the Springville Art City Days Carnival. Sadly - ticket prices for rides are so outrageously high - each child only got to choose one ride to ride - but they seemed pretty okay with that. I didn't hear even one complaint. What good kids I have. Here are some pictures of the highlights...
Tate & Kyndi on the Dragon Rollercoaster

Oaklee and Dayton on the Jeep Merry-Go-Round

Tyson and Moe rode a zipper-crazy-ride of which I could get no pictures of them...

As we were leaving a guy offered Kyndi a free ride on the trampoline bunjee-jumper. Now Tyson, Morrissa, Tate and Kyndi have all had a turn on this thingy in the past year or so...

PS Kimmi was not with us at the time - as she was on a trip to California with her mom...

A Mother's Little Helper

When I got done making my fabric wipes today, I soon found Dayton trying to use my rotary cutter to cut some scraps... (no worries, the guard was firmly in place - but that didn't stop him from thinking he was actually doing it!!

Don't Go Chasing WaterFalls

Anyone see anything wrong with my ice water?

A few days back I got me nice refreshing drink of ice water from the fridge door-dispenser.

I went to take a big ol gulp - and there was a dice staring me in in the face. Seriously. How on earth?? Turns out I had placed a dice on top of the fridge a week previously or so - and it had somehow fallen into the fridge where the dispenser -ma-jigger is, and then come out as an ice cube. Crazy.

I Don't Wanna Close My Eyes, I Don't Wanna Fall Asleep

Dayton almost always falls asleep in his carseat on the way home from school... especially in the recent heat.
Oaklee falls asleep quite often as well.... (With her doll buckled in too)
Kyndi, not so much..

Oh I Love the Rainy Nights

I love rain!! Especially when it is a total torrential downpour!! The kids all love it too - they go running outside to drench themselves... All except Dayton that is - he has some weird issue about getting his feet wet... no idea what that is about... He was fine to go out if someone was holding him - then he loved the rain, but getting his feet wet just freaked him out.

Oaklee was by far the bravest. She pretty much stayed outside from the storm's start to finish.

You Are My One and Only

Oaklee started dance class last week. It was her one and only class. She just stood there the entire hour staring at everyone else. Towards the end she started to cry. She told me she doesn't wanna do it anymore.
At home she is such a dancer - so I thought dance class would be a good option - but turns out they only do ballet, and they techniques and all just didn't thrill her at all. Check it out... She's the one in the purple doing nothing but standing there...
Not too thrilling.
What did thrill her however, was attending Kyndi's first Gymnastics class... Now Oaklee desparately wants to take "Anashicks" So... I pulled her from dance (got a full refund) and enrolled her in Anashicks. I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures of that...
I actually am quite fond of the gymanstics facility. They have different stations they go to. Balance Beam, Tumbling, Parallel Bars, Spring Board, an elongated skinny trampoline... and tons more. Kyndi has so much fun. Sadly it's quite difficult to get pictures because they are either far below us (our bleachers are on a balcony-type thingy) or they are behind glass... But after I tell you of the typical Kyndi Manuever she performed, I'll share some pictures...
Kyndi's class was doing different routines on the elongated trampoline... this thing is HUGE in length but quite skinny... they had to perform things like a frog-hop from one end to the other, or summersaults, or a variety of other stunts. On this stunt in particular, they were to run their fastest to the other end and then jump off into the huge poofy mat below... Kyndi did the run-full-speed-ahead part very well - BUT she forgot the jumping part until far too l;ate and went face first, skidding across the poofy mat. Hilarious!! The lady next to me said "I wish you got that on camera!!" That my friends is a typical Kyndi manuever.
These pics are crappy quality but I'll take what I can get... (She's the one in a pink leotard and black pants and crazy hair...)

Bein' Green

I've joined the Big Bum Syndrome. aka. the world of cloth diapering. These diapers aren't the way they were when I was a kid - they are Fantastic!! No pins... no hideous white chunks of cloth... This is what a few of them look like...
So cute, right? AND they make Dayton look like he has a big ol' bum! So stinkin cute!! These diapers come in almost any pattern you want.. some are pricier than others (check out etsy.com) for your best deals. I love them! My favorite of Dayton's is a leopard print one... In the heat of our house I often put one on him with nothing else on and he looks like Bam-Bam running around. Love it.

Other benefits include: you can lay a flushable liner inside the diaper so that if the baby poops, you just flush the liner and there's no mess left in the diaper!! (Gotta love that!)

When I change his bum - I just throw the wet diapers straight into the wash. - then they just get washed with the next load that goes through. It's delightful.

...There are one-size ones too - meaning the same diaper can adjust to every size to fit everything from a 7 lb baby to a 35 lb toddler - Its Fabulous! And I never hafta buy another diaper ever!!

See, its not so much about being green as it is about saving my money.I absolutely became a giant fan overnight!!!
