Tiny Tidbits of Info

Whilst reflecting on things to write about Kyndi, I came up with a few tidbits of info about everyone...

TYSON
* His favorite song is Hey Soul Sister (by Train). I seriously cannot stand said song - so he finds it quite the hilarious event to turn the radio up real loud when it comes on just to delight me to my very core.
* A common phrase out of his mouth these days: "You got tp-ed" Which soon turned to "You got T-pizzled" Both of which mean something similar to "you got burned" or "got ya!" with his own little twist. (Not to worry, Dayton can now very oftenly be overheard using these phrases as well.

OAKLEE
* sings songs to Jersi of her own lyrics. She'll grab a microphone and just bust out a custom melody and lyric salad of great proportions. I love it. So cute.  Generally they involve alot of 'oh I love you' - and -'your beautiful face'
*She has this crazy tendency to repeat herself indefinitely. For example: "Mom, can I have a treat?"
"Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?""Mom, can I have a treat?" Even if I have responded - if she didn't like the answer, she just keeps pursuing the idea.  Let me tell you how much we *love* this!

TATE
* is a total tender heart the simplest of things can hurt his feelings to the core.
* Since he was little I called him my Best buddy. (Samantha -do not confuse that with your bestest buddy title)  -  He reminds me almost daily that he is still my best buddy.
*He is a reader, he'll pretty much read anything and everything - and he has a fascination of all things video games.

DAYTON
*Somehow this kid manages to be the most hilarious critter I have ever seen at the same time he also dominates the role of total *hellion*.  He is SOOOOOO funny. We always find things to laugh at him over - from his facial expressions to his side-splitting phrases and comments - so funny!!  He repeats anything people say and hearing things fly out of his mouth in such adult like manner is hilarious!  (Example: "What? You have a cracker? That not fair!")   HOWEVER, he also reeks havoc throughout this entire house - he is not nicknamed Brutus for nothin'! He pretty much thinks he dominates the Universe - and whatever you do, don't cross him or he'll shout one of many angry phrase, including but not limited to: "You're not my buddy" and "Get outta my room dad!" See, naughty boy I have here. He seriously gives me a 200% run for my money! Good thing I love him so much!
*He makes amazing faces - He has a definite Old Man Face, and crazy as heck angry eyes!
* He is a dancer to any and all music..and mouths the words as he goes.

MORRISSA
*Has a grand ol time making up dances and performing them for Kamron and me.
*She's one of those students that is 100% focused on perfect grades. It really amazes me.

JERSI
*She's recently learned the art of laughter and it's oh-so-cute!
*Still looks far too much like Oaklee and sometimes it really trips me out!
*She is thrilled and content to hang out in her bouncy seat watching football with her dad.
*She's reached the stage where anytime she's on my lap while I'm attempting to eat, she'll grab for whatever it is and try to devour it herself.
*She doesn't however do very well with baby food at all. She gets frustrated far too quickly at my failure to go her desired speed in shoveling the food into her mouth.
*At one point I really thought she had mastered sleeping through the night-ish. She'd go from 9 PM to about 4 or 5 AM and then go back to sleep after eating until about 8. That has totally left her now and Most nights I don't think she ever goes more than 3 hours between wake-up moments - and then she struggles to get back to sleep.  Usually around 3 or 4 in the AM we start a ritualistic battle of trying to keep her to sleep and her fighting against it with every scream she can possibly muster in her tiny little system. Exhausting. So very Exhausting.

KYNDI
(Even though I just reported about her in her birthday post, I cannot leave her out here...)
*She is obsessed with the idea of having Tea Parties... she'll lay out a blanket (in picnic-fashion) in her room, set out toy plates and utensils - make nametags for everyone in the house - then set to work on invitations. All just to sit around for a few brief minutes to eat a small snack.

KAMRON
*Whereas he may be super timid around people and crowds but at home with us he is a constant crack up. His favorite song? Don't know but I know he has a secret liking for all things Neil Diamond and John Denver.. (And he loves him some "Burnin' Ring of Fire" too)

As for me... I am swamped with school, children and utter insanity.

Kyndi Loo-Hoo

Little Kyndi Loo-hoo just turned 6! What??!! Seriously? Wow. (okay so it was a few weeks back - and I'm seriously behind - but life still travels far too rapidly for me to keep up!!)
This first picture my sister Sam took of Oaks enjoying Kyndi's new present (a vanity) every bit as much as Kyndi is...
She's thrilled with her vanity and therefore I am thrilled with this purchase!!
For a long time Kyndi has begged to go to a nail salon just to get her fingernails painted. Morrissa paints her nails all the time - but in the mmind of a small girl - a nail salon is royal treatment. Her nails turned out super cute (and for $7.00 I will do this for her every birthday!)  ...She did however have every speck of the polish off her hands within roughly 27.3 hours....

Let us see if I can come up with some fun Kyndi stuff to tell you about.
*Kyndi is loving every bit of the Kyndi-garten experience. She is currently on reading level C which according to her teacher os a first grade reading level - Go Kyndi!!
*Kyndi loves all things arts and crafts - she is always making creations of all sorts.
*I love love love her sound spelling - my latest favorite is -penwins- (penguins)
*Kyndi is still quite the clutsy girl - she can fall over whilst merely standing still.
*I'm not sure if her hair will ever outgrow this sad maniac-like state of being that it has been in since birth. Her hair is naturally frizzy and completely absurd. We can do it completely gorgeously and within 5 minutes it looks like she just rolled out of a light socket. Poor girl.
*Her favorite colors are pink and purple and she loves flamingos.
*She's by far my most favorite Kyndi I ever had before.

Green Man Group

Some time before Christmas, Tate and Kyndi came home from school with free tickets to a UVU basketball game.  None of the girls wanted to go - so they stayed home whilst me and Kam and Tyson, Tate & Dayton went to the game. The tickets are general admission but somehow we were lucky enough to sit on the 2nd row.  Now, at UVU's basketball arena they have this back room type thing that is actually it's own basketball court where all the kids can go play - and that's exactly what Tyson & Tate did for the entire game.  Dayton stayed with us and loved it - his favorite part was the Wolverine Mascot. He watched every move that critter made. At one point the Wolverine came right up to him and gave him a high-five.  To say Dayton was thrilled is an understatement.
My favorite part of the game was the Cheerleader with a major wedgie - especially when she got lifted up by two of the guy cheerleaders in pyramid fashion - she had an entire bum cheek hanging out folks - it was hilarious!  Kam and I couldn't help but laugh. Poor girl... although I don't know if she even knew as she never did a thing to fix it -- could she not feel a draft of some sort??
Growing up going to BYU sporting events I guess I never realized how reverent BYU games are. Honestly, they aren't reverent at all, but compared to the UVU basketball game (vs Utah State), BYU is severely reverent.  UVU and USU's team fans were so ridiculously rude to eachother (I sorta liked it) One sign a UVU fan held up said: At least our women aren't cows.  See what I mean? (Seriously though - I secretly like that competitive/rude spirit)
Half-time had a Green Man Group.  Much the same as the famous Blue Man Group (if you're not familiar with them, google them and get to a showing of theirs, you will not. regret it.)  This was the marching band and they came out in lime green full body suits - even their faces were covered in this nylons-type get-up. Or maybe it was more like full body, head to toe spandex. It was great - and with the booming of the music and the lighting effects - fabulous!
UVU lost. Bummer. But it was fun.

Christmas Loveliness

Santa came - can you believe it??  The kids had us up at 6:30 - and we finally had to wake Dayton up at 9. (which is incrediby odd for him cuz he's always up by 7:30 at the absolute latest!)

Oaklee got the chicken she wanted. (Santa put it in the cup still frozen so it wouldn't go bad throughout the night - Oaklee ate about 5 pieces of chicken, completely frozen, before I caught her and offered to cook it for her.)  She is already dressed with no pants on here - meaning she had obviously gone potty already this morning - cuz I know she went to bed with Christmas PJs on.
Miss Hollywood. Oaklee is obsessed with sun glasses - so its fabulous that Santa brought her a pair of her very own.
Dayton with two of his favorite things - candy (a lollipop) and balls (Tyson's new Juggling balls) Dayton got a Buzz Lightyear Action Figure, A Woody Pillow buddy and a whole ton of cars with a vinyl playmat track. He loved it all. Sadly I was not so great at picture taking. Bummer.
This is Tys-A-Roni opening his guitar shaped present.  Inside he found it was filled with tons and tons of garbage and walmart bags and even this little tupperware box thingy. His response :"what the heck?!" Then he spotted a tiny white rectangular box and picked it up for examination. When he realized what it was he leaped off the couch and hugged me. Cute.
This is how happy he apparently was...
Oh - and here are two pictures of how beautiful the little girls were for the Christmas Eve party...

That's One Way of Doing It!

A few days prior to the Christmas festivities, I told the girls (Oaklee and Kyndi) that they needed to clean their room.  Now let us re-cap for a moment here... Oaklee and Kyndi also share a room with Dayton and if not watched every second of the day he becomes a complete whirlwind of a tornado and has that room from clean to complete shambles faster than you can say Hooga-balooga (yes I've tested this theory) (Okay, not really) Anyways, you get my point - and when I say their room was a disaster, I mean an absolute torrential disaster. Not an inch of the carpet was even visible and you had to wade through piles of stuff just to get anywhere. It makes me abslutely crazy to have their room look this way... Now back to the story at hand:  I was sitting in my room when Oaklee came to me and was all excited to show me what she had done. I followed her to her room and found it looking like this:
Now granted it isn't perfect - but look I can see carpet!! And lots of it! And she did it all herself. I was so proud.  Then she showed me this:
Ha! I about doubled over in laughter! She had shoved every last thing in her closet - it was almost flying back out at me! Hilarious!

Santa and the Rest

The Annual Santa appearance at my mom's party

Kamron really hates doing this every year

Poor Penelope - home barely a week from her mission and already has to sit on a man's lap!!

I thnk we wore her out, completely.

Christmas Eve Nativity and Talent

Every year at my Mom's Christmas eve party, we do a re-enactment of the Nativity.  It gets a little crazy. But that's what makes it so fun!!

Tate and Dan, two of the angels

Tyson - the thrid angel

Dayton, proud to be Joseph

Mary (Morrissa), Joseph and Baby Jesus (Jersi)

The Angels and their "Spirit Fingers"

The Shepards - Kyndi and Sam (and dad reading the scripture verses off his phone)

Sharli and oaks are the wisemen (Sorry Shar - sorta cut you off a little)

He's so stinkin cute!

Love her outfit? (Well she pooped right through it and had to change her into her Jammies)

The whole crew
(My apologies if any are offended by our silly nativities - our family is just crazy like that - but rest assured we do follow up with a spiritual message from my dad)
Next came the talent Show. pretty much no one was prepared for such a thing.  never fear - tate is always up for putting on a show. here's one of the (3) times he sang for us. (he had a cute Christmas outfit beneath this Jazz shirt)

Oaklee was thrilled to perform something-or-other but got too embarrassed and put on a total display of shyness.

Sharli tried to help...

Kyndi's singing performance - Dayton took this picture - he does pretty good.

Ten Dayton had to ham it up for everyone. Pretty much he stood there and cheesed it up.

A picture Dayton took of Penelope holding Jersi-pie.

Grandma (my mom) reads a story to everyone while we wait for a special visitor...

Lella (oaks) is snuggled up with Sharli as grandma reads the book
