Jersi Pie

I special ordered this kid to have her daddy's dark skin, her daddy's dark hair, the natural curly-ness that runs in both our families, and my brown eyes... I think the baby factory mixed up my order. Pretty sure none of those will be the case. oh well. She's beautiful.

Shadows in the Park

I love this picture!! (Me and Kyndi)
(and in the ones of just Oaks and Tona, can you see why people think they are twins?)

You know you're sleep deprived when...

You know you're sleep deprived when...

*One of my kids asked, "What's Dayton gonna be for halloween?" It took me a minute to figure out which kid Dayton was. seriously.

*You check the back seat numerous times to make sure you brought the baby with you

*When you take the clean, dry  laundry out of the dryer, and put it in the washer...add the soap and then go..."Ohhh shoot what did I just do?"

*Having to name each off each of your children as you get plates out for dinner, to make sure you get enough out, cuz you honestly cannot remember how many kids you have... every stinkin night!

*When you get into the shower with your underpants on

*You forget to rinse the conditioner out of your hair in the shower.

*You shampoo your hair 2 or 3 times because you can't remember if you've already done it or not

*You fall asleep folding laundry

*You make a semi-emergency run to the store for something very important - but don't remember what that item was once you get there.

*You hafta make a list to remind you everything you need to get done during the day and then cannot seem to remember where you put it.

*You place your phone on the hood of your car and then drive off and leave it there only to realize 10 minutes later that it's missing! (And then when you realize what happened you retrace your steps back to the park to find it lying in the middle of a busy intersection) (It still works!)

Muscle Lackage

I lack muscle of any kind. I'm a total whimp. There are days I am certain I can totally take Kamron on... okay I really don't believe that. But how pathetic can I be? We were lounging around watching tv and suddenly I found myself in a scissor hold... I could not get out. My consistent laughing didn't help I am quite sure. But even without the laughing, my severe lack of muscle had me trapped. Once I finally got myself out (okay lets be honest, Kamron let me go) He then placed one of his legs across my back, result? Me 100% pinned.  I seriously couldn't move. What a whimp right? Let's see you try it! (I love pretending I'm stronger than him!)(I think he secretly likes it too)

My Little Buddy (& a Princess)

Colors of Their World

Oaks favorite colors: white and chocolate.  She loves all things white. She'll choose the white cup for lunch, the white balloon in a bag of many colors, white white white. And then there's chocolate. Anything brown or dark-colored is obviously chocolate. This does not necesarily mean it's edible, only that it's a color in her world. (Must be her grandma's granddaughter)

Any time I am driving aroun with kids in my car (which is every time I drive) there is always a slug-bug game going on.  "Slug bug, yellow!" Or "Slug Bug, red!"  Anytime there is a shout out of slug bugs Dayton immediatly follows up automaticially with "blue one!" It's always blue.   He also very much enjoys informing me of every bus we pass. He'll yell "bus!" And if I don' accknowledge that he'll say "mommy, uh nuh nuh nuh bus!" This means 'mommy I found a bus!'
Dayton: "blue one!"

I Bet...

Oaklee's favorite phrase: "Betcha can't do this" - followed by some silly stunt that may either be very simple (touch her nose with her finger) or quite tricky (a random crazy jump of sorts) She is always tempting us to try her tricks with her cute little phrase...

Lip Sync

I have a family of little singers. All but Tyson sing along to the radio - but Kyndi and Oaklee do it the most - or so I thought. Kamron recently pointed out to me that Dayton lip syncs like crazy to every song that comes on. He was right. Dayton moves his mouth in random patterns through every single song as if he is singing along - whether anyone else really is singing along or not. I love it! And he's generally doing this while bopping his head around to the beat.
Oaklee is a big time singer - she can often be spotted with my Wii microphone singing whatever song she can come up with (real or made up on the spot) at the top of her lungs.
One of my favorite songs on the radio is Taylor Swift's You Belong to Me for the simple reason that Oaklee will sing it word for word completely on key. Seriously. I also very much enjoy the part of the song that says "like I do" because than Dayton chimes in with "I do!" at the top of his lungs completely off key. I love that I have such singers in my house... wonder where they get that from..

His Shoes

Earlier today Jersi was staring in Dayton's general direction. "Look Dayton" I say, "Jersi's looking at you"  He nonchalantly replies "She like my choos" (shoes).

The Bulldogs Meet the Dons

Spanish Fork Dons 46; Provo Bulldogs 6.
Tyson's stats:
2 sacs of the quarterback.
The sole causation of a fumble.
 and numerous, numerous tackles!

Tyson is a smaller kid than most on his team. At times he looks much younger and more fragile than them. Do not take things as they seem.  Many would think he can't get those big dudes to the ground... wrong! He has a fabulous technique: Dive for their feet and trip them. It works fabulously.

This week the announcer had his name right - so that's good. With all the good Tyson was doing the announcer, part way through the game, started referring to him as 'Petersen'

Tyson did so well in that game his coaches named him honorary captain for next saturdays game (pretty much this title translates into : Player of the Game)  Woohoo! Tyson is thrilled. (And his dad is so proud!)

Sneeze You. Sneeze Me

I sneezed the other day and Oaklee piped up and said, "sneeze you". I thought nothing of it. Today she sneezed and quickly followed it up with "sneeze me". Apparently this is her delightful way of saying "bless you" or "excuse me". Funny girl.

Also today she was telling me a whole gibberish story - when her story concluded she said: "Does that even make any sense?" So funny.

Jersi the Friendly Giant

Growth spurt or what? Last week this outfit fit her... this week not so much...

And as a sidenote - let it be noted I hate these kinds of binkies. I detest them. They are completely hideous. However, they are the ones the hospital goves them and is now therefore the only she'll take. Grr.. I'm trying to change her mind on that...

My Favorite Shirt

I made this shirt for Kamron for Father's Day the year Oaklee was born. I committed a spelling fau paux which drives me crazy every time I see it - but other than that, I absolutely love this shirt and have added to it both when Dayton was born and when Jersi was born.

Tyson is red, Morrissa is light green, Tate is dark green, Kyndi is Pink (ish) Oaklee is Purple, Dayton is dark blue, Jersi is bright blue.
Let it be noted, Jersi's feet are bigger than both Oaklee and Dayton's. What a bigfoot!!

Daddy's Girl

This is the beautifulness of a little lady obsessed with her daddy...

She couldn't keep her eyes off him. I love it.

Good Girl

We were out and about running errands, both Dayton & Jersi were displeased. As we returned home they had both quieted in the back seat. When I finally looked back there, I found Oaklee helping them both feel better...

She was holding Dayton's hand, and rubbing Jersi's cheek. Such a good girl she is..

Dayton and Daddy

Dayton is quite the mimic. He mostly mimics his dad.  Yesterday Kam was going through the mail and all the ads - as he got through with each item he set them next to him on the couch, where Dayton would then pick them up, look at them and then set them next to him on the couch.
From the second Kam returns from work he has an instant shadow that follows him everywhere he goes. (Including the bathroom)
There is only 1 thing that Dayton loves more than his dad. Jersi. It's an obsession really.

A New Method?

Every night near bedtime, Jersi begins her scream-fest. Most nights I find myself just holding her until she finally quiets, and then continuing to hold her forever long after that (because I know the moment I set her down she will be right back awake and crying and the cycle starts all over again) There are some nights however that I am just plain tired of holding the beautiful girl.  Last night was one such night. I handed her to Kamron after going through this cycle far too many times. I left the room for a few moments and when I returned I found this concoction added to her bed:

This is a blanket I made for Kamron last year or the year before - it is super warm and super soft (very furry). It worked like a charm. I don't know if she liked the warmth of it or what - but she stayed sleeping in her bed until 1 AM! After feeding her however, she refused to nicely return to her bed.  Maybe it's me. Maybe Kamron has a secret technique to laying her down. No idea - but I seriously need to get it figured out so I can get me some much needed sleep like I did for a few hours last night. (thanks again Kam!)
