Hershey Track

Remember the track and field days from elementary school?  Now days they do what's called "Hershey Track".  All the Elementary Schools in our city meet at the local high school track for track & field competitions.  It is only for 4th grade - 6th grade - and each grade has it's own designated day.

I packed up the Littles and we went to watch Tate in action. Here he is thrilled to see we came to enjoy his day with him.

He first did the 100 meter dash.

He came in 4th! Go Tate!  It was a good improvement for him, last year he came in last in his heat and was very disappointed in himself.  He was very proud this time around.
Next he participated in the Standing Long Jump.  So cute watching him do this.  They gave each child 3 turns to jump their farthest.

Tate was very impressed with himself.  He was having a great day!  I think he was mostly thrilled to have us there to watch him.
His final event was the softball throw - but by this time we had been in the sun far too long, the Littles were hungry, and Jersi desperately needed a nap so we headed home (there was still 2 hours or so left of his adventurous day at the highschool track).

There was a lot of sitting around time awaiting Tate's turns.
Jersi quickly learned to play "Duck Duck Goose".

 Jersi did some cute poses

I took pictures of my glitter toes and fingers that so fashionably match my shirt...

And Tate's teacher (Mr Peterson) sat on the bleachers taking it all in!
