Just Another Day at the Park
There's a new massive-ish park in Spanish Fork. They started it forever ago and it was supposed to be done by the beginning of June. Wrong-o. Just ask Kyndi - it took them forever! As we drove past it everyday she'd freak out that it wasn't done yet. They finally had a grand opening Aug. 28th We avoided it like the plague - WAY too crowded. So we waited until the following monday and took The littles and Kyndi and Jersi... This park is pretty cool...it's got a water fountain feature thingy on one side and a big ol' playground on the other. The kids opted for the water side... Oaks and Kyndi ran right in.
Dayton was another story. He'd run full speed right up to the water and then turn and run full speed back to me. ..numerous times. He finally git brave enough to stick his bum really close to the water...not in it, just close to it.
The next day we went to the playground side. We quickly learned that this sdie is more for older kids than for younger. Kyndi tried a spinny-seat-thing and she flew right off, screaming, into the woodchips. I put all three kids (Kyndi, Oaks and Dayton) on swings and as they were swinging along, Dayton decided he was done and just let go. Result: a faceplant into the woodchips below - causing mini scratches all over his face. We quickly decided against further injuries and opted to go over to the water fountains again. (But Oaklee did enjoy these funky swings they have there)
Back at the fountains - this time Dayton had no fear.

Kyndi-Garten
Kyndi started kindergarten today. She was so excited she woke up super early this morning. I was gonna wake her up at 7:15 and she was already up and dressed. Too cute. It was a stressful morning trying to get her ready and Jersi and the Littles all set to take her to school... Fortunately most mornings she and Tate can walk to school together.
She barely even ate any breakfast and I don't think the morning went near fast enough for her.
Once there Tate was helpful enough to stay with all the littles in the hallway whilst Kyndi and I ventured into her classroom. She put her backpack and jacket in her cubby and found her seat. She was far more prepared for me to leave than I was. She set right to work building with shapes. Tate and the Littles waved goodbye to her. She was grinning from ear to ear when we left. Cute girl. We go pick her up in about 20 minutes... (how does the time fly when she's at school?? Whoa!) We'll find out then how her day went...
Her "pose"
Update: They made a giant gingerbread man today - and he ran away! They found a "man in a gingerbread costume" a little while later and chased him around. Then they got to eat the gingerbread man they made. That was the excitement of her day. She says lots of kids cried but not her. She had fun. But "mom, they didn't even teach me to read today!!" I explained that she'd learn over time, today was just the first day. Her response: "You're right, maybe they'll teach me tomorrow"
After school when the bell rang her teacher walked them all out to find their mom's. Her teacher said, "If your mom or dad is here you can go ahead and leave, if not stand at the wall until they come" All the kids went running to their parents, Kyndi couldn't see me standing there so she walked to the wall and stood there. I paused to take a picture - but quite honestly it broke my heart that she thought no one was there to pick her up.

Mickey D's
This morning before Tyson's game we all went to McDonalds to get some breakfast. Normally I wouldn't blog about such boring things BUT while Dayton was running around the playground, he discovered Ronald McDonald sitting on the bench and shouted "Ew! He Hideous!" It was hilarious!!
Tyson's Game
Tyson played his first football game today. He plays as a starting line backer and he plays on special teams. It so cute watching him play - like he's all grown up or something (I don't think he'd enjoy me saying his football playing is cute - but it is!) He's really good and he gets into the game. They played Timpview today at Timpview's field and won 44 to 21. Go Tyson!
(He's number 53)

Boy or Girl
Some excerpts of conversations with Kyndi
K: Mom how can dr's tell if someone is born a boy or a girl?
Me: Well, think about that, what does Dayton have that you don't have?
K: A nose that's farther up his face than mine??
K:Mom do you think when Jersi grows up she'll have a bony butt like me?
I love the way her brain works!!

One Way of Doing It
Teach Me a Lesson
After yet another adventure of Dayton sticking his whole arm (up to the elbow) into the jar of peanut butter, I stuck him straight into the tub. In the after-bath math I was preparing to put his diaper on him - and whilst doing so I blew a raspberry on his chunker-belly. He squealed and shouted "no!!" I should have listened to his demands. I did it again and this time was met with a delightful stream of pee in my face! I'm not even joking! Guess he taught me!
Oh What A Beautiful Morning
So I finally got Jersi to go to sleep this morning around 7. I wasted no time and went right to sleep myself. Problem with this is - I was so asleep I never got up with my kiddos who all headed off to school on their own. (What a horrible mother I am)
But here's where the morning intensifies (and the true point of this blog)
at a few minutes before 8 AM I got a phone call from Kimmi's cell. Weird, Her school should already be in session, so I groggily answered it. (Is groggily a word?) Kimmi was indeed on the other end and she said this very thing, "Hi, I got hit by a car and you need to come sign the papers with the ambulance so they can release me to go to school." Hang on, what?!?!?! Yep -
I heard her correctly! The ambulance lady got on the phone and told me Kimmi's okay - she just got clipped - she has a skinned knee but she is okay. I just needed to go sign the release forms.
I headed down there where the police officer explained that Kimmi had crossed at not the right moment. She did not in fact have the right of way. (apparently we need to teach our children to use the cross-walk buttons, and wait for it to give them the green walk signal before proceeding across the road) The old man that hit her is 87 years old and he was completely frazzled (and understandably so) He was so stinkin cute bless his heart. It wasn't his fault but he just kept apologizing to me and offering to drive her to school or drive her bike home for me. I told him I could load it in my suburban - no big deal and I could give Kimmi a ride to school. I told him to go get himself a donut or something, that his day could only get better from here. His reaction "Oh no, it'll get worse when I tell my wife what happened!" He chuckled at that. So cute!! Poor old man!
At one point Kimmi handed me a wet napkin and I jokingly commented "Is this your snot rag?!" The man thought I was hilarious and he punched me in the arm and said "You smart aleck!" Hilarious!
Anywho - Kimmi is 100% totally fine. I told her it'll make for a good story to tell everyone. We got her checked into school and all is well - but I don't think she'll live this down anytime soon. Pretty sure her dad and siblings are going to give her grief.
Wow - what a morning. Just glad she wasn't hurt anymore than that.

Turn the Volume Down
Anyone know how to teach a 2 year old to use a quiet(er) voice? He practically yells everything he says... We were at Kyndi's Kyndi-garten assesment and I told the Littles they need to be quiet (and I provided them with Swedish Fish to assist in this...) They both did so good, until about 10 minutes in... then they were bored of sitting quietly. Oaks would whisper things to me so she was still very quiet. Dayton however was, well, Dayton. He is loud I tell you. And no amount of "Shh" or "Please talk quietly" was doing me any good. I'd whisper and ask him to whisper and he continued to yell his responses. Will I ever get a quiet voice out of him? My sources say no.
Jersi's First Day of School
I started back at school yesterday. (17 credit hours this semester - woot!) My classes are at night so that someone is home with the kidlets. However, I will not allow Jersi to stay home (and the feeding her thing comes into play)... So... She gets to come with me. I was at school from 4 until 9:30 last night and she did so well - she never even made a peep until the last 3 or 4 minutes. What a good little girl. Hopefully that trend continues although I am quite concerned she'll get more and more vocal as time goes on. Then I don't know what to do with her. But for now I can enjoy having her at school with me.
Here she is on her first day of school!!
(Is it just me or does she have really long legs?)

Talking to Gramma
The End Result
Remember at the beginning of the summer, Tyson decided to grow out his mustache for the summer?? Well here is your end result... drumroll Please.....
Who's Ornery?
Last night Jersi was sleeping on my lap and Oaks was sitting next to me on my bed... Jersi made a small little grunty-ish sound and Oaklee said, "wow, you're ornery!" Hilarious!
Who Grows That Fast??
Jersi had her 2 week check up today - and other than having a miserable cold, all checks out well for her. Woohoo.
When she left the hospital (August 13th), she weighed in at 6 Lbs 5 oz. Today she weighs 7 Lbs 5 oz. A whole pound in 11 days?!?! Whoa! But get this - She was born measuring 18 inches - today she is 21 inches. How does one grow 3 inches in 2 weeks!! This little lady is gonna pass up Dayton in no time at this rate! So crazy!
Is this picture only half-there for you guys? Its a normal picture in my file until i post it here. weird.
School is Back in Session
Car Part II
So...back to the tale of my cute little Neon... Where did I leave off on the previous story?? That they tested it and it was the alternator and Kamron changed it out and it worked?? Wrong-o. It did work - he drove it to work the next morning. Got there just fine. Home was a different story. The car suddenly blew a fuse again on the freeway and therefore up and died. He pulled to the side replaced the fuse and was then able to drive about 5 more minutes (Keep in mind he woks in Sandy and lives in Spanish FOrk...Long drive). The car continued blowing fuses and he continued changing them every 5 miles or so. It took him roughly 2 hours to get home (generally a 50 minute drive) Once home the car died its final death of the day - it would no longer start no matter what he did. He changed fuses and tried to start it but the fuse would blow as soon as the key was turned. Oh Heavens. He worked on it all weekend to no avail. Back to the mechanic we tow... The mechanic replaced the fuse and it started right up. They tried everything to get it to blow so they could find the problem but no such luck. The fuse refused to blow. What on earth? kamron changed the fuse a million times and it blew every time and now they do the same thing and it starts right up and runs perfectly?? Blah. What a waste of a weekend for Kamron - again, poor guy.
Onto Part III
He drove it to work yesterday without a problem - headed home - he again blew a fuse. This time however he was able to replace the fuse and get all the way home without incident. He got back to work this morning without incident as well... Crossing my fingers for his trip home... How annoying, seriously.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Okay, so maybe he's not the Wizard of Oz - he's my couJake... He's fabulous.
Wait, pause for a second - here is a picture of his cute little boy, Magnus - whom I think is one of the most adorable baby boys I've ever seen in my life (I hafta be carefeul seeing that I've had a few baby boys myself...)

Isn't he cute?!?!
Anywho - Jake is always so thoughtful - especially when I have new babies... He called me last week and informed me he'd be ordering pizzas for my whole clan for dinner the following night, and that he did! 6 pizzas and 3 2-liters of soda. Fabulous! We were well fed and loved it! But that's not all!! His doggy had a pool party (insert slight snicker here) close-ish to our house so he and his cute family came to visit us on saturday, and they brought a few boxes of ice cream sandwiches for everyone!! Fabulous, again!! He really is great - and not only that they brought a gift for Jersi too with a real cute shirt and the cutest pink knitted shoes you've ever seen!! Thanks Jake (And AnnMarie) - you seriously are beyond fabulous!!

Oh SO Nice
At our house there are 2 tubs/showers - my room and the regular bathroom - so there is very oftenly a fight for the showers. I sorta hafta assign everyone a time to shower. And generally Kyndi and the Littles hafta share the tub at the same time - and to cut down even more, Jersi just showers with dad. (She'd shower with me but I have a fear of her being far too slippery). When Dayton and Oaks were tiny and showered with their dad, they LOVED it! - Loved the water and cried when they got out. Jersi, not so much. Last night was her first shower - She screamed throughout the entire affair. But I got some cute pictures of her in her towel...
Jersi's got a cold. Her poor little nose is so full she can barely breathe. This is making her sleep even less at night than she already was... I've been exhausted! Last night as soon as she fell asleep after eating, I put her straight to bed and went to bed myself to get in as much sleep as possible before she realized where she was and woke up screamin.
A couple hours later I woke to her crying near me... I opened my eyes and Kamron had her. He said she had woken up about an hour before and since he was still awake he snuggled her for a while whilst I slept. So nice.
